City of Glass is the third and final instalment in the bestselling urban gothic fantasy sequence for young adults, The Mortal Instruments written by American author Cassandra Clare.
The project brief was to produce an online application aimed at teenage girls to build on the author's considerable online presence she already has within the social networking sites.
Heavily influenced by the book jacket design we came up with a content packed widget that includes information about the books and characters as well as a countdown timer displaying the time left until release date. We will also be sending out exclusive content alerts including extracts, wallpapers and author video through the course of the coming weeks.
Campaign objectives are to reach the core fans within online communities, get them to grab the widget and to pass it on to their friends. And of course buy the books...
