Oxford English Dictionary Viral Quiz

The iconic Oxford English Dictionary is the world’s most trusted dictionary and Galactus were asked to produce a viral quiz to promote the 2010 addition to coincide with the launch of a new Oxford dictionaries website.

Creatively the quiz has taken influences form a number of well known games and TV shows resulting in a fun, light hearted and challenging game that provides great opportunities for repeat play and a higher propensity for users to challenge their friends.

Game play involves answering a selection of genre based questions against the clock. There is also a scrolling ticker providing helpful clues as well as links to AskODO (Oxford dictionary website) should you require further inspiration.

We also produced a batch loader for the client to directly update the category lists enabling quick and easy updates for new words that make the dictionary going forward.
