Google Earth Treasure Hunt Website

Date: May 2011
Client: Carlton Publishing Group

The Great Global Treasure Hunt on Google Earth is a book written by Tim Dedopulos, a former editor of Mensa puzzles that takes you on a fascinating quest to uncover the resting place of a marvellous treasure that could earn the solver 50,000 Euros.

Each book spread contains a series of visual and textual clues that will lead you to a specific location or series of locations. Making sense of the clues will frequently require cross-referencing between the book and Google Earth.

Commissioned by Carlton publishing, with sign off by Google, this website has been developed as an entry point to gain clues, sometimes red herrings, and to ultimately submit your answer.

The site has also been developed in HTML5 ensuring that it’s Smartphone friendly and also includes a dedicated trailer and a Twitter feed from Tim Dedopulos.

Further developments include localisation of the website for a number of European languages.
