Client: Nickelodeon
Lego City is an interactive environment produced for the commercial division of Nickelodeon to promote the latest Lego product range.
The site centers on a Lego City map enabling users to navigate through a number of zones interacting with a variety of Lego product. Zones include an Airport, Train Station, Fire Service and Police Station.
Each zone is designed with Lego City products populating the scene that include roll over functionality to find out more about the products. There is also an opportunity for visitors to upload their own Lego model creation to the map driven by the added incentive of winning the whole range of Lego products featured on the site.
Once an image has been moderated and accepted these images are then showcased in a thumbnail gallery within the particular zone pictures are added to. Submissions also include Lego builder’s names, age and a unique ID that enables them to search and find their picture each time they visit the site.
As the site is aimed predominately at children we also produced a bespoke moderation tool that enables the client to either publish or reject images that are submitted. There is also a builder’s map that includes geo location technology which displays what part of the UK site builders have submitted pictures from.
